GAIN welcomes four new members to Board of Directors

Georgia Asylum & Immigration Network (GAIN) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to our Board of Directors. These distinguished leaders from the legal and corporate sectors bring decades of experience and a strong commitment to our board. We look forward to benefiting from their guidance and support as we continue to advance our mission and growth. Logan Kirkes, Associate, Jones Day
Logan Kirkes practices corporate law at Jones Day, with a focus on M&A and corporate governance. He has represented clients in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts across a range of industries, including the automotive and electric vehicle charging sectors. Logan graduated from Georgia State University College of Law in 2021 and from The University of Georgia in 2018. While in law school, he completed a legal externship with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta and maintains an active pro bono practice today, which prior to joining the board included ongoing corporate governance-related service to GAIN.
Eduardo Martinez Jr., Associate General Counsel, UPS
Eduardo Martinez Jr. is Associate General Counsel within UPS’s Litigation and Investigations Group. A first generation-American and the proud son of Cuban immigrants, he is a life-long Atlantan and dedicated advocate for a number of humanitarian and community-based causes. Outside of his passionate work for UPS, Eduardo is a member of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2025, a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow; a member of the Pro Bono Partnership Atlanta SpringBoard, helping in-house and volunteer attorneys provide free legal services to non-profit organizations based in Metro Atlanta; and a Georgia Legal Food Frenzy team leader. Eduardo holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from New York University and a juris doctorate from the Emory University School of Law.
Nikita Trivedi, Director SCM Supplier Management and Strategic Services, Southern Company
Nikita serves as Director of Supply Chain Management Supplier Management and Strategic Services at Southern Company. In this role, Nikita leads supplier management and governance, supplier inclusion and sustainability, risk management, data analytics, demand planning, and technology road map in enabling the company’s strategic sourcing and procurement. Nikita has held various leadership roles with increasing responsibilities in areas such as Charitable Giving, Marketing, Finance, Region Operations, and Regulatory Affairs/Energy Efficiency at Georgia Power and Southern Company.
In the community, Nikita serves on the board of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) and Georgia State University Foundation. Nikita’s recognitions include Georgia State University’s 40 under 40 award and the Georgia Asian Times Top 25 Influential Asian Americans in Georgia for 2022. Nikita earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Mercer University. She is a graduate of Leadership Dekalb, Emerging Leaders, and Inspire Atlanta.
Michael Turton, Partner, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP
Michael is a partner with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP based in Atlanta, Georgia. He concentrates his practice in intellectual property law, with a primary focus on patent litigation and intellectual property strategy and licensing. Michael has represented companies in patent litigation actions in jurisdictions across the U.S. including the International Trade Commission. Additionally, he regularly assists companies with a variety of intellectual property matters, including pre-suit matters, such as analyzing patents held by competitors, conducting freedom to practice analysis, and providing written opinions.
This spring, GAIN also welcomed a new member to our Advisory Board: Michael Kenny, Retired Partner, Alston & Bird.
And we give special thanks to Scott Casey, Jeffrey Fisher, Mahesh Joshi, Nadia Sarangi, and Darcy White who rolled off our board this year. Thank you so much for your years of board service and continued support of GAIN’s work.
