Taste of the World: The Power of Unrestricted Giving
Atlanta, GA—Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Since GAIN’s founding in 2005, we’ve believed in a simple but bold idea: justice should not be reserved for the few. That belief has carried us through two decades of political shifts, limited resources, and relentless attacks on the rights and dignity of immigrants. And it has been fueled—year after year—by supporters like you.
At our annual fundraisers, from Go Formal for Freedom to today’s Taste of the World, we’ve not only gathered to celebrate our mission, but to raise unrestricted funds that power our most courageous work. Unrestricted income gives us the freedom to say “yes”—yes to a client in crisis needing immediate assistance, yes to new opportunities that can transform lives, and yes to innovative approaches that make our services more accessible, equitable, and effective.
This year, as we celebrated GAIN’s 20th anniversary, we also honored the reality of the moment we’re in. Humanitarian protections are unraveling. Families are being separated. Some immigrants are having their legal status revoked overnight, others are denied asylum before they can even tell their stories in court. Across our network, trusted partners are being defunded or shuttered simply for doing what is right.
And yet, we carry on.
Taste of the World 2025 raised over $400,000 in unrestricted support, with more than 370 people contributing! But its impact extends far beyond the numbers. These gifts give us the freedom and flexibility to show up—especially when no one else can. They allow us to rebuild futures, uplift families, and plant seeds of justice far beyond our own caseload.
Unrestricted giving is not just a vote of confidence—it’s an act of courage. It says you believe in a better future. It says you are willing to stand in the gap with us when systems fail and when hope is hardest to hold onto.
When you support GAIN in this way, you are not just giving to a cause. You are fueling possibilities. You are ensuring that every immigrant seeking safety in Georgia has a fighting chance; not just to survive, but to belong.
Thank you for being part of our story and for standing with us.
